Pinoy Trials
Daredevil trick riders dominated the show this morning with their awesome display of skills. These guys are from Pinoy Trials, a group focused on tricks and exhibitions while negotiating obstacles with the use of modified mountain bikes.

Patrick Olalia, the administrator of Pinoy Trials starts with a reminder on safety; these tricks shouldn’t be tried in uncontrolled environments and without the presence of experts. Safety gear should not be overlooked; helmet, elbow pads, knee and shin guards.

The bikes they use are modified mountain bikes, one of the most noticeable difference is the absence of seats. Trial riders don’t need them and can actually hinder them from doing some of the complicated tricks. They use wider handlebars and bigger wheels. The brakes should be more powerful than that of ordinary bikes and with low-gearing for easier handling for tricks and jumps.
4 Basic Moves of Bike Trials
The most basic skill, the idea is to stay still on your bike while standing on your pedals.
Rocking
It’s popping a small Wheelie and an Endo alternately.
Pivoting
Moving the bike in a clockwise or counter-clockwise manner, a wheel at a time or both for advanced levels.
Hopping
Lifting both wheels simultaneously.
Patrick wants to stress that these moves are not only for those involved with tricks, the skills learned from these techniques can help any biker become a better rider.
