Arnold Clavio
No doubt, he is the epitome of what Unang Hirit is all about. The show, after all, is about the right mix of fun and seriousness, which Igan easily juggles around. One moment he is singing and dancing, the next he is seriously delivering the news. He cracks jokes here and there, even in a middle of a commentary and then suddenly throws a serious question that may catch an interviewee off guard. Not many journalists can get away with these, but he sure can. And it’s because of the reputation that precedes him – a hard working journalist who worked his way up from the field. Today, he is entrusted to deliver the news as Pinoys start their day and at night, before they go to sleep. In between, you hear his commentaries on radio or you see him working on his special assignments or documentaries. In UH, he does all of these. If there’s any news you need to know and understand, then surely you need to hear it from Arnold Clavio, your “Igan sa Balitaan.”
Rhea Santos
She used to be the newscaster, who could have been a beauty queen, especially with her towering height and pretty face. These days, however, that’s the farthest thing you’ll think about her when you see her on TV. When you see Rhea, you see an “anchor” in its oldest sense in broadcasting especially when she’s assigned right where news is happening. She ties the all reported events and then makes sense of them, delivers them clearly, even amidst chaos. And when she isn’t anchoring, she works even harder, producing special reports on stories most overlook and issues that matters to most people.
Suzi Entrata-Abrera
When it comes to hosting, Suzi surely is one of those who can do them all. Her wit is as entertaining as the showbiz news she delivers. Add physical challenges in her hosting assignment and she’ll still be just as game. And that’s what makes her stand out among her peers – her being unafraid to take risk and her cheery personality. As a no-nonsense mom, however, expect a different Suzi. Because to her, parenting is a serious business where taking second chances is a no-no. Even in Unang Hirit, she is the one to go to when other hosts need advice about their kids. So when it comes to mommy issues, count on Suzi to be the authority.
Lyn Ching-Pascual
Crack a real good joke and she giggles. And if it’s good enough, she’ll have a hard time recovering. That’s Lyn Ching for you – the one who can make anyone smile without her even trying. It’s her cheery disposition that makes you think she got no worries. Truth is she’s just good at handling problems, even anticipating and solving them before they even became problems. So whatever it is that bothers you, listen to her and she may have some tips for you – from family matters and housework, even business and financial stuffs. She’s a “practical” person.
Pia Arcanghel
What’s not to love about “Ate Pia”? Kids love her in her weekly art show and moms tune to her as she delivers news as they take their lunch. And in midst of news events that turn to crises, Pia Arcangel never loses composure as she calms her viewers. It is because of this that people trusts her even during desperate times when they need to call for help. She’s all heart and that’s exactly what she’s lending to Unang Hirit – that willingness to reach out and listen to those who are in need of Serbisyong Totoo.
Connie Sison
A veteran and respected broadcast journalist, Connie’s reputation in public service is well known even before she joined the roster of GMA News and Public Affairs personalities. And it’s not because of nothing. Yes, she’s as down-to-earth in person as she is on TV. But her smile definitely isn’t for procrastinators who add more problems to the society. In Unang Hirit, expect her to call attention to those who don’t do their job and those who continue being troublemakers in the community. That’s her contribution to UH’s fortified Serbisyong Totoo.
Susan Enriquez
Her being a working mom and reporter helped her land a stint on a lifestyle show uniquely for the masses. After all, she loves working on assignments that serves ordinary people, especially consumers. So on her next stint as Unang Hirit host, Susan chose to deal with issues that empower buyers. As the “misis na wais”, Susan will be vigorously monitoring prices and quality of prime commodities. Plus she’ll be on the lookout on the most sulit products in the market and will be offering tips on how to make the most of what you buy.

She’s called “Reyna ng Kalsada” for a reason and it’s not just because her voice can drown a jeepney’s blaring horn. It’s because she’s updated with the latest in traffic – and that includes even advanced road advisories that motorists need to know even before they hit the road. Plus her voice isn’t really something you can ignore – it’s loud enough to wake and cheer you up but also dreading enough fore erring drivers, passengers and traffic enforcers.
Drew Arellano

She first appeared in UH to promote a new teenage lifestyle show, of which she would be hosting, then later guest hosted as part of her show’s promotion. Every time, everyone notices how good she until she was asked to guest host everyday. And now, she’s officially part of our barkada, with her youth adding more vibrance to our show. She’s always fresh, despite the everyday travel she has to do for the show, and is always armed with great insights on whatever gimik she’s assigned to do.
Lhar Santiago
“Updated sa showbiz happenings!” best describes Kuya Lhar. He knows all the nooks and crevices of the local showbiz industry, he even shares bits on Hollywood stars because he has actually met some of them. Tagged as the “godfather of showbiz chika” no one can beat Kuya Lhar in his element.
Luane Dy
A celebrity interview with Luane looks nothing like an interview at all, just two celebrities chatting and catching up with each other. After all, Luane is just as pretty as most pretty faces in showbiz. That proves to be among her assets when covering showbiz events. When it comes to hosting, Luane isn’t limited to showbiz though as she had other hosting stints before including hosting for a sport show. i did my OJT at GMA public affairs four years ago (and incidentally, for igan’s “emergency”)…and one of my fondest “off-hours” memories from there was watching “unang hirit” live at the studio (or sa GMA lobby) first thing when i get to GMA (dahil wala pa masyadong tao sa “emergency” desk before 9:00am), because it was so fun simply watching the hosts’ camaraderie on and off-cam…of course, some of the hosts back then are no longer with UH now, pero nakakatuwang isipin na ‘andun pa rin yung kasiyahan at samahan, which a lot of us na loyal kapuso have been used to for the past 9 years…kahit ngayong nasa ibang bansa na ako, thanks to GMA pinoy tv, i still am able to catch THE morning show i have gotten used to waking up to…:)
here’s to more years for the UH gang, and all the best to everyone–lalo na kina sir AAC (igan), ms. suzi and ms. rhea, who i got the privilege to talk to personally during my internship sa GMA…:)

Hi po sa lahat ng hosts ng unang hirit. Ito po ang line-up ng mga hosts na walang itulak-kabigin. kahit sobrang dami nyo po, wala po akong nakikitang sapawan sa inyo.
Sadly, di ko po kayo napapanood lately or shall I say since I moved to Dubai, UAE. Ang sked po kasi ng show nyo is between 2:30 am to 5:30am dito sa GMA pinoy Tv. Kaya kahit gusto ko po kayo mapanood araw-araw di ko magawa. but i make it a point na every fridays napapanood ko kayo. yun lang po kasi ang araw na pwede ako magpuyat/gumising ng maaga.
nakailang palit na nga po programa sa kabila di pa rin kayo natitinag. honestly, nasusulyapan ko po yung kalaban nyong show pag papasok ako ng office (me TFC po kasi land lord namin at sa sala nakakabit). pero di ko po kayo maicompare sa kalaban nyong show. para kasing ang “dry” at pilit na pilit sa pagpapatawa. di po kagaya sa inyo naparefreshing at spontaneous ng mga ginagawa nyo sa set at sa field.

Iwatch your show everyday. Iwork midnights , so when i come home and and get the children ready for school, send them to school, i have to do my household chores yet and watch your show then pick up my youngest and both of us get the chance to watch and she learns more of Tagalog and the happenings we celebrate back home. The show she loved most was about Christmas which she don’t see here , the traditions we have. I like all the hosts, they excel in whatever they are assigned in the show and they give their best in every episode and gives lesson to everyone. Unang hirit hooray!!!

i enjoy watching unang hirit every morning. Yes i agree, for a while the show became boring because of the same faces that you see in the news program of gma. Same faces just different programs. New faces like monica and luane makes the show more interesting. I hope you’ll still add new faces in the show. it’s so boring to see same faces in gma just having different programs.
